DO AWAY WITH SECRET IDOLS
“Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”
Deuteronomy 4: 23-24
Dear Christian friends, a secret idol, in our current context, could be anything we give so much attention to apart from God; it could be a cherished person, a treasured possession, or even an activity. It is worth noting that God’s jealous nature requires that we do away with all such secret idols and rather become more intimate with Him, ascribing all the glory to his Holy name.
