OVERCOMING SIN THROUGH ABSTINENCE
“Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.”
1 Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved in the Lord, the most effective way to deal with sin in the Christian life is through abstinence, not condoning it. When sinful desires are not resisted, they eventually lead the soul of the professing believer into eternal damnation. Let us, therefore, always pray for the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit to abstain from every sinful desire.
