BITTERNESS IS POISONOUS: GUARD AGAINST IT
“But if you harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.”
James 3:14-15
Dearly beloved in the Lord, the Christian is expected to guard against the spirit of bitterness, for it is like poison in the spirits of its victims. It is potent enough to mire our relationship with God and destroy well-cherished relationships. To get rid of a bitterness, the Christian is expected to open up to God and receive grace and enablement from the Holy Spirit to starve bitterness till it finally gives way to forgiveness and contentment.
